If you don’t smoke, drink and you’re as fit as fitness guru, guess what? You’re still not good enough! Our righteousness is like filthy rags. (Is 64:6) We are saved by grace, not by anything we do or don’t do. However, I abstain from alcohol because I don’t want to be a stumbling block to those who are immature in Christ. 1 Cor. 8:9 “But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.”

Its not alcohol God dislikes, its the abuse of it. Food is the same, all you gluttons and overweights out there,
God made all things for us but not to abuse. Jesus drank wine and its the same word used, oinos, as in where.
we are told to be filled with the spirit not filled with wine. God doesn’t make mistakes. Paul tells Timothy to take a little wine for his stomache and frequent ailments. It is used to make the heart glad also in the word. Those who say we can’t drink it need to get a concordance and look up exactly what is said.

The thing with alcohol is this…NO the Bible does not say it’s a sin to drink a glass…HOWEVER, if one never takes the first glass, then they will not have to worry about 100th glass breaking up their home, killing their body, or taking an innocent life. P.S. There’s nothing in the Bible about smoking either…however, both alcohol and tobacco are personal one on one convictions. One person may be convicted on drinking any alcohol where another may not. And we are not to force conviction on anyone…isn’t that Gods job?
